I am new to the group and I have not been diagnosed with acromegaly but I have most of the symptoms for a long time.I talked to my GP about the symptoms and I asked him to do a IGF-1 test on me and he said that my IGF-1 is not high.Is it possible to have acro and not have a high IGF-1? I have severe joint and muscle pain, muscle weakness,TMJ,pain in feet and hands,swelling of feet and hands,shoe size increase by one size only,ring size increase about 3 sizes,sleep apnea,spacing between teeth,facial swelling,swelling in brow line,my bite has changed but not severely,But these symptoms are the reason I susspected acromegaly but now am not sure.What kind of doctor would you all suggest I see?

I would like to thank everyone who has responded to me.You have all been so helpfull and made me feel so welcome to the group.Finding this group has really been a blessing.This has been a busy week for me and I haven't had a lot of time to respond but I have been reading your posts.My son is graduating in 3 days and we have had alot going on at the school and trying to get him motivated(he is pretty worn out}.I am in a research study for the drug that is used to treat my lung disease so I will be at the research clinic all day tommorrow.But maybe after that things will settle down a little.At least staying busy helps to take your mind off of how bad you feel(sometimes}.
