I've had acne for about 10 years now. Unfortunately I currently don't have medical insurance and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for cleansers or creams.
I have tried Tetracycline, Minocycline, and birth control pills but none of which completely remedied it. In fact, all of those pills made me feel strange, like I was depressed. I hated that feeling. I've also noticed I break out when I use scented soaps. I developed a rash on my chest and back, and even a little on my neck. I've stopped using Neutrogena because I think it was burning my face. I'm using St. Ives, and it works great so far. Does anyone know of any products I could use that are suitable for my sensitive skin? Posted on 09/22/09, 05:09 pm |

I wouldn't resort to pills unless I really had to... Cetaphil works great, it's such a gentle formula

I have this exact problem. My skin is acne prone but is very very sensitive. I've tried many drugs and topical things and it's driving me crazy. I hate to look in the mirror. I'll definitely try one of the two suggestions....

Thanks for your suggestions.
So far, me eliminating Neutrogena from my cleansing routine has sure helped. The several knots I had under my skin are shrinking and my face isn't itching like it was. Maybe it's just coincidental, but I'm hoping this will help!

Neutrogena made my skin horrible too. Actually, most things did. Aveeno helped me some too, but nothing has helped like the Acnefree line for me, not even prescriptions or anything like that.

My skin is also super sensitive. To wash I use bar soap from Vermont Soap Organics. They are all natural and hand made and suppossedly good for sensitive skin. At night, I put a dab of emu oil on any spots. Again it's said to be great for skin irritations, doesn't clog pores and is natural and gentle.

Company: amino genesis... the product is called "really, really clean". I use it only in the summer, when my skin is a little more oily. In the winter, when my skin is more dry, I use moisturising cleansers. Also, i put organic aloe vera JUICE in my water bottle. That hydrates you from the inside out, and it also is good for your organs. You can buy it at health food stores. Hope this is healpful.

Try "purity" by Philosophy. It's great for sensitive skin. You can usually get free samples at the Philosophy counter at Macys, Nordstrom, etc. It's fairly reasonably priced too.

I've fallen in love with the Basis face wash called cleaner clean. It's really cheap and it's soo soothing for sensitive skin. My skin has improved drastically since I've started using it
