Minocycline???

So I just joined, and my dermatologist prescribed me minocycline tablets for the occasional cystic zit that I get on my cheeks. I've just had the prescription filled, but am very hesitant to take it after having read through all of the side effects and warnings about it.
Has anyone here taken this medication? If so, what has your experience with it been like? I'd love to take something that would stop these stupid cysts from forming, but at the same time..some of those side effects are pretty nasty sounding. Posted on 07/28/09, 12:07 pm |

I use minocycline 100 mg. my dermatologist told me the side effects too but she also said that it happens to like every one in 100,000th person. So the chances are slim. But I use it for my acne, and I used to have it pretty bad. I got big zits on my face.. and then a bunch of small ones. But my face is SO clear now. I love it, and I use a face wash. I take one in the morning and one at night, and just wash make-up off before bed. But I absolutely love it, and I've had no side effects, just minor dryness.

I'm really sensitive to medication, and when I used Minocycline and Tetracycline they both made me feel dizzy and out of it. :(

I have used it off/on for the past few years. I stopped using it a couple of years ago because my PCP suspected that it was lowering my white blood count.
