Why is it that every time I'm about to start my period I break out? I hate because its always a little worse each time. And it doesn't help that I get stressed out it because that makes it even worse. I tried using proactiv but it didn't work like I though it would. It would get rid of the old pimpils only for new ones to take their place...does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I think that most woman have this problem. Its all in a hormonal change during that time that makes you break out. Something like the birth control pill may be an option for you. That will help to keep your hormones in check.

break out before pimples? hell yeah! it's because of hormones. yest i went to my dermat & she told me that even though i break out before periods i dont need to take hormones.
she told me to get my thyroid checked and have abdomen usg (because i've painful periods). meanwhile she gave me multivit & zinc, tea tree & lavender oil face wash (very gentle), lots of fruits and water, dont touch my face-at all!, and apply adaplene for 2 hrs at night & lacto calamine before going out in sun. let's hope it works.

Yeah I break out the week just before I get my period, and what makes it worse is that before that week, I feel like my skin is improving only to turn into disaster. i read somewhere that it happens b/c your hormones are fluctuating and this cause irregularities with your skins oil production, hence causing breakouts. I don't know the best course of action for this, but it might help you talk to a doctor/dermatologist in finding a treatment.

The same thing happens to me every single month and it's really very obnoxious. I have been on birth control and it didn't help anything so it seems like nothing can stop my raging hormones every month from having one or two pimples. i've just learned to deal with it for the most part even though i'm very self conscious. i have found some decent liquid foundations that work wonders as well. The Neutrogena one's are the best in my experience! good luck and don't let the pimples bring ya down!
