Some tips that helped my acne drastically

I am currently 22, and have suffered from acne for a few years now. I had it pretty bad at times, and back and chest acne also. I had tried about everything, but I recently have done some new things that seem to help alot.

1. I no longer use face wash, and when I use body wash I avoid putting it on my shoulders, chest, and back and have seen improvements by just showering twice a day.
2. Take showers that are not hot, I usually use luke warm water. This has helped out a lot with overall skin quality.
3. Wash sheets and pillow case at least once a week. Also stopping the use of fabric softener has really improved my body acne.
4. I noticed that when I worked out in cotton, my body acne got really aggrovated. I picked up some Under Armour shirts that really help take the moisture of your skin. Now breaking a sweat seems to help the quality of my skin.
5. I just changed my diet to eating a lot healthier, fruits and vegetables also. Taking vitamins, fish oil supplements has made me feel better overall and my skin has gotten better.
6. Not drinking alcohol as much. When I used to binge drink a lot my skin would be very dehydrated and I would get worse acne. I also would have night sweats, kinda like withdrawal from alcohol and that is what really made my skin bad.
7. Get a little sun, but not too much. Going to the beach and getting a tan has helped my body acne drastically.
8. Use a different towel after every shower. If you use the same towel a lot oils from hair and stuff can build up and you spread it on to your body when you dry off.
9. I currently use a Nivea for Men oil free moisturizer for sensitive skin. Very little ingredients and doesn't clog pores.

Hope some of these tips can help some of you out there, they have helped me a lot and I am much more confident in myself.

" That sounds different than what people usually prescribe.
I would like to know- what did you use to wash your face if not face wash? Did you used some soap or natural thing from kitchen, or you just washed it with water?

I recently come across someone's entry that she had adult acne for 10 yrs. Dermats couldn't cure it and said she had oily skin so she'll have to live with it.

But her friend advised her to use products for sensitive skin, since skin irritation with harsh products can cause acne. (I never knew than)

The lady followed her friend's advice and after 10 yrs of living with horrible acne, she got a clear skin finally! "

" Yeah to tell you the truth I went to my several different dermatologists and tried various different treatments such as benzoyl peroxide, differin, clindamycin, benzaclin, even some sulfur treatment and they really just dried my skin out and made me worse. I even tried laser acne, which I thought did actually have some results but can be a bit painful especially on your face. Ha I didn't mind though I hate acne so much that I was willing to take the pain. I just use plain water on my face, and it's all about humidity for me. In winter time I get really dry skin and tend to have a bad complexion. I fixed this by purchasing a humidifier in my bedroom and taking colder showers. Summer time is hard with the humidity you just gotta rinse yourself off if your sweating, easier said then done when your on the go but it helps. I've tried so much over the years but just sticking to some basic skills that don't involve medication have helped me the most. Let me know if you got anymore q's I can help you out with good luck! "

" Thanks.

I definitely agree with 2m 3m and 5 the most. I take fish oil every day, and 50mg of zinc, and so far...so good. "
