I just started treatment yesterday and I was wondering if you've used it when did you first see significant results?

" Hersheymegan,

I'm currently on accutanne as well. It's been alsmost 3 months and I must say, I don't think this time around it's worrking for me. I was on it about 7 years ago, and it really cleared up my problem areas. Currently, I am still having breakouts as beforing being on this medication. I'm concerend and will inquire the continuance at the next dr visit. But I'm not seeing any results as of yet. "

" deepthinker-
i'm really sorry to hear that. it's so frusterating to when the bumps simply won't go away. mine has gottens so bad to where i didn't want to go outside. i'm hoping that i'm too early into the process to know if it's making a difference. i will pray that you get your answer and hope that i get mine.

best of luck! "

" Thanks I hope it gets better too. My dr told me (and I've read this as well) it gets much worse before it gets better, and it's usually around the 3 month time-frame. Before when I was on it, it was for my back/arms/chest, not so much my face like now. So as with before I couldn't see it like I can now on my face. My dr also seems to think now it's hormonal. She said she may have to increase my dosage(Sumitlal, thanks, we had decided we may have to increase it) (from 40mg - 60/80) plus put me on a hormone pill. So we will see. I hope it works out for you hersheymegan, It is veeerrryyy frustrating when you are not seeing the results that you desire, especially with the cost of the medicine and the office visits/bloodwork. You just started also, so give it until around your third month, you should see some results by then.

Good luck. "

" At the start of the treatment, i was also frustrated that I continued to break out. My doctor also said it may take up to three months to start to work well and it may get worse first. I started on 20mg and worked my way up to 80mg. I've been taking accutane for almost four months now and am happy with how it is working. Is your skin dry? Mine got dry before I started getting better. Hang in there and good luck! "
