How do i get over the feeling of insecurity?

there is not an hour that can pass by without me constantly thinking about my skin.
its become a joke now, i pretend im ill if i dont want to go into 6th form because of my skin. i hate the way my skin will control what kind of mood i will be in that day, for example if i wake up and my skin is extra bad i will be uspet or angry all day. if i have an ok skin day i wont be as moody but i will still feel insecure alll day long. my friends all have perfect skin and they dont understand how much acne can get u down. ive just gone into feeling totally worthless and its all because of acne~!!

" I feel your pain!
I have had very bad acne since I was 10 yrs old, I'm 20 now and my acne is still here!!! I just got a prescription from my doc for some acne cream so hopefully it helps.
Anyway I am still very insecure about my skin. I hate it. I found the only way to feel a little less crappy is to get a good foundation. Which was also really hard for me until recently when I tried Mary Kay products. Medium coverage foundation is freakin awesome. Doesn't make your acne worse either. They also have acne cream and an acne mask that I'm going to try.

" Ive had acne since gradeschool and it never got easier until I was able to get it somewhat under control. Like you said on days that my skin was red, irritated or broken out it made my whole mood bad. Read my topic trial and error. I hope it might work for you. "

" I know the feeling. Insecurity is not very nice at all, and it's hard to control. I don't know how to get rid of it entirely, but I know that finding out who likes/loves you for you and surrounding yourself with them often can help. Just remember that you're so much more than your skin, and that it'll get better in time. I think if you try really hard to focus on other things (and not stress about your skin!) then you'll become more joyful and your skin may even appear better to you. This does sound crazy, but it's usually true. Once you're in the right mindset, you'll see things through a very optimistic lens, and things WILL become more positive. The worse thing you can do is to stress about your skin. It can make it worse. So...Find things you love, people you love, places you love, and surround yourself with these very often. "

" I saw that you are one accutane...hang in there it does help! You get tired and your skin gets dry before it actually starts to work. For severely dry lips (mine were even dry around the lips) I use Weleda Baby Calendula Cream. It's completely natural and nourishing. I've been using it now for a few months and love it. I actually put it on my face at night, too.
I know how you just want to be alone, but going out (even alone) in the garden or for a walk always helps me. The earth will see you on through this time! Sorry for your pain...but it will get better "
