My partner suffers from insecurities brought on by a life of what i believe to be abuse from average people who havent understood him and what it means to have dwarfism. i have suffered greatly for it in our relationship.
Im really wanting to discuss with other little people or average people in a relationship with the opposite what its like for them and if they have gone through the same things i have. i would also like to talk to any little people who might be able to offer any stories about how they have delt with life being little in a world of average people with ridicule and how you have delt with things emotionally in relationships in the hopes that i can help save ours. We have a beautiful daughter together but right now are seperated. He has taken his frustrations out on me for the past year with mental and emotional abuse but i have stuck by him because i love him very much and i know hes a good person.. he just needs some help. Well i dont have a boyfriend in my life that is a dwarf, but i see how people treat them and that is why i joined, i think it is so stupid treating someone diffrent because of there hight and stuff i mean i think them people need to get a grip, everyone is human and has feelings. And has everything worked out with you guys? ihope so, and i hope that he can understand that people are stupid and shouldnt listen to them. like i tell everyone else like rednecks at mt school talking about black kids, if u were to cut your arm and theres your blood is the same color, no one is really diffrent, we are the way we are because thats the way was made to be. If you know what i mean. I really really hope everything goes and turns out fab-ulas. with you two. Him and i are going to therapy seperatly as of right now. Hes been able to make some positive steps towards changing. It is a slow process and im patient. I understand a little more about what has gone on in our relationship and im totally trying to stick it out. I feel pretty good about it. Our little one is doing well thanks. I wish there were more people in the world that were willing to try to understand. People are just people in my eyes until they start acting ignorant then i see them as the ones who are different.. Because they are the ones who are blind and never see past their own noses. I feel angry at the things they do and and say but still i feel sorry for them at the same time. They will never understand the beauty of life and how interesting the little differences in people can be. Its sad really.. and they are usually lonely, miserable, and in my personal oppinion, unintelligent people .. thanks for the post. :) dont ever be afraid to stick up for what you believe in..

My husband has achondroplasia. It is hard to realize sometimes that we are not "normal". I feel your need to have someone who just "gets" it. My husband and I went to therapy separately and also together. Have you thought about trying to go together? It helps sometimes to have a neutral party to help sort things out. I don't know- but it helped us.

As of right now we are broken up :(
It has gotten to the point where i wonder if he really is able to care about someone other than himself. Ive gone through 2 and a half years of mental abuse and i feel like ive given him ample opportunities to do something.. anything.. to show me hes capable of giving me something in our relationship. He went to therapy.. then i went to therapy.. then we went to couples.. and in the middle of the last one he admitted the only reason he has been going is because he thinks ill leave him if he doesnt. I feel like he has learned his whole life how to not show people how hes really feeling and be the person he thinks other people want him to be in order to be liked. :( if you would like to email me and speak with me more in depth about things that you guys have gone through, i would love to hear about them. Maybe it would offer me some insight. thanks for commenting!

It's his loss. He doesn't deserve you.
My wife has Achondroplasia and we get along great. I can't remember the last time we had even a little argument. She does everything around the house and I do most of the cooking. people stare sometimes but most know us around here and we're friends with many in the area. Like I said...his loss.
