Yep. I have it and did'nt know what to call it until a year ago. I thought my lifelong struggles with inability to organize my life, procrastination of biblical proportion, and leaving projects unfinished for years was just the laziness my father diagnosed. My poor wife has put up with so much. It is good to touch base for the first time with other folks with this goofy (but serious) disorder. Just started vyvanse and have high hopes. Anybody know how to get this stuff cheap?

Meds are great, but developing coping skills is the most important part.. you need to learn how to function all over again!

Thanks for the suggestion. I can't argue with it. Can you tell me where to go for these skills?

You betcha! Diagnosed at 9 and 17! Started meds this year. Wish I had started them 30 years ago!

33 here! A long history of unfinished... everything, caused my self esteem to hit the ground. I have difficulties to find/keep a partner. If it were not because my mom is a great loving person I would be living alone, she does not understand what this disorder is. Most people in this culture I live in do not accept the existence of anything outside the norm.

With a lot of effort I have made it to almost finish a Modern Language Career (At the moment I am writing the final paper struggling with myself to focus and do it even when my mind wanders away)

I have never received treatment and have come to know what I had only after being treated as a dummy my whole life. It sucks!

Now I focus on my talent and just move on... I make sports (martial arts) where I am tought how to focus through breathing, It is not a solution but it helps.

just diagnosed with ADD at 22--prescribed vyvanse--anyone know anything about this med?

any partiuclar reactions with alcohol?
