My son has ADHD. He is 6 years old almost 7 and has been on meds since he was 5. He was on Ritalin for over a year and did well with them, until he started ticking (bad) Had to take him off. Then after a few days he stopped ticking. Then was put on Strattera which made him sleep. It didn't help.(5 long weeks) Then he was put on Focalin which helped. After being on this for about 7 months he started ticking again. OMG when does it stop. So I took him off until we could get to the dr. and then he wanted him on Vyvanse. I gave him one pill, he was still ticking and the meds made him out of it. He got very angry and sad. Highs and Lows. He has been off his meds for a week and half and does well at home, but he is still having problems at summer school with keeping his hands to himself. At home he is happy and loving. When he is with other children he is always touching them, and sometimes hurts them. (pushing and hitting) He still is having a small tick, but not as bad. Has anyone gotten a tick while on the meds and what did you do? Does it stop?

" To start with Ritalin is evil. I have ticks, I remember when one of my hand ticks started, it just started. I have some other ticks that I just live with. I also have some fact ticks that I have learned to control. After some time I have learned how to control most of my ticks, it just takes time to learn. "
