I am new to this group and I have a child who was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. I am a married wife of a Navy Corpsman who is deployed right now. My 5 year old is going to start Kindergarten in July so I am a little nervous since I am dealing with this alone.

Our son was diagnose in Kindergarten. What worked for us was having a good reopore with his teacher. If possible, talk to his teacher before school starts and let her know the scoop. Most teachers have taught children with this condition. Arrange for daily reports either in person or in a note sent home. This will help you keep track of any problems he may be having and you can respond quickly to correct any behavior issues. ADHD children get frustrated and overwhelmed easily and usually, so if he is struggling with anything he can be helped right away. ADHD is recognized as a learning disability. The school will have programs in place to help your son as much as they can, take advantage of any and all resources. Good luck!

and I know exactly what you mean. My ex husband is in the Navy & I am a single parent of two children, both diagnosed with this & that. HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!
