was recently diagnosed with ADHD and was started on concerta. ive noticed it mentioned once or twice in a few posts but thought id take the direct aproach to see if i got a little more feedback on it. i know it takes time for meds to really kick in, but i really dont feel a single bit different at all on it. yes, the day seems to go by slower, but thats it. has anyone else ever been on concerta and if so how was it for you. thanks in advance

My son is on Concerta after 2 other ADHD meds. he is 10. He has been on it for 3 months. 1st at 18mg,27mg, now on 36 mg. a good starting base. It took 2 weeks to see good results out of the med in the begining.

hello, i take 36 mg two times a day. i have noticed that it gives me energy but allows me to be more focused. it takes some time for the dosage to get right, and sometimes the doctor has to play with it a bit but it really is a good medication.

My daughter, 10, has aud. proc/ lang. proc/ ADD. We were at witts end. I reluctantly went with Concerta/ 27mg. She is a happy child now. Not too happy, but just right. She and I get along now, we finally have a relationship. She has NO side effects. Maybe your dose is too low. My daughters took effect immediately, within 20 min. Will be thinking of you and hoping all will be well.

My 7 year old just started Concerta about two months ago after trying Daytrana and Addaral and seems to be doing very well. She's on 18mg and may need to be bumped up soon. She lost so much weight on the two previous medications that her bones were showing and the doctor took her off for a month. I did everything I could to get weight back on her and she put on 6 pounds in 4 weeks. With this Concerta, she eats and eats and is finally maintaining a healthy weight. I have been pretty happy with it so far.

My daughter was on adderall and a couple of others before we made it to Concerta. A lifesaver! They started her too high, and then brought her down and after a few months we had to bump it up to the middle - 52 mg. I think. She eats on this one - which she didn't on the others. Much better with school and just in general.
