" While I am not an expert by any means, from what I know Adderal can have similar effects to speed. It is an up-er and will definately affect your sleep pattern, kinda like drinking a cup of coffee before bed will. Theoretically weightloss makes sense too. Check with your doctor and see if you should start taking your dose at different time or even a smaller dose. "

" Yes I had that problem. When I took it I couldn't sleep even after taking an ambien. That's pretty bad since ambien usually knocks me out. So I had to quit unfortunatly. I'm still wondering if there's another med that doesn't effect sleeping this bad.. "

" Try Concerta. I never had any sleep problems with that medication. I Like it a lot better than adderall im taking now. But after I few years my body became immune to concerta. but if I were you try that one out. "

" hey, i take adderall xr...i have been for a year now, and yes i have lost some weight. the only way that adderall would effect your sleep is if you take your medicine later in the day. if you do that, take it in the mornings....not sure about just plain adderall, but if you take the extended release (xr) it lasts for 9-12 hours. so take it in the morning, it will wear off by bed time. oh..about the weight loss thing again, any weight you lose you can easily gain it back. " My little one just started taking it, the first week was hard becasue she could not get to sleep. The DR. did tell me it should not last very long around a week. He said if it did along with with heart beating fast etc.. should only be a temprary thing. She did not have that problem , just the sleep for one week. But he did say if it lasted longer that the mediciine needed to be changed.
I don't know what time you are taking it, maybe try to take it a little earlier then what you have been. I do know the weight loss is normal. ALso maybe speak to your DR. about cutting back on a lighter dose.
I know adults body's react differently to this med, but I guess it is a good time to ask, does it make you feel like you have tons of intergy? Because she doesn't seem like it, plus the DR. told me the same medicine is giving to an ADHD child. SO the engery thing, I would think was odd.
Anyway did tons of research on it before outting her on the med.'s, but still learning. "

" Adderall is an amphetamine. I take Klonopin before bed and that helps me sleep. "

" I was on Adderall about 3 yrs ago for about 2 yrs. Remember, that it wakes up your brain and there is no off switch at night LOL. The stuff is like speed. I felt like a drug addict on it because I could not go without it or have a lesser dosage because I would feel very drained. My system became dependent on it and it was really hard coming off of it. Just be very careful with it. "

" I just started Adderall 10 mg two weeks ago. Take it first thing in morning. Tried taking it last night; someone said maybe it would help sleep. Nope I just tossed & turned. I don't like taking tylenol PM every night so sometimes I cut pills in half. This week I have forgotten three very, very important tasks. Two had to do with my boss and today I forgot about a luncheon. Maybe my meds are too low, need to up to 20mg. I feel like time is standing still. Does that make sense? I'm switching calendars (again) to a monthly calendar. "
