Help with job loss

I just was fired from a job after a year and a half. It was definately because of my ADD. They really seemed to like me but the corporate offices wouldn't let me stay because I left money in an "unsecure area" twice in a year. First, I would like to know if there is anyone specifically or generally who help with this facet of ADD. (Money is obviously a factor since I have no income as of today.) Secondly, any tips on getting a job after a firing? I've read of people here getting and losing several jobs in a short period of time. Can anyone give me ideas about getting hired after job loses? Thank you for reading this, Bryan

" Ok Bryan this is the deal. Not all jobs are the same, if you work at Wal-mart or sears or at KFC then it is easy to get jobs. most people do those kind of jobs when they change so many. Corporate life being different it could take months to land the job and months to get a new one. You were fired because of ADD, I was fired 4 times from good jobs. first you will have to medicate or else the same will happen for sure again.

second you have to understand that this is not a fair game, no way, you are caught in an unfair, nasty whirlwind and you cannot use the rule others use. You will have to practice a well thought of lie unfortunately to cover your tracks. Your biggest problem now is not ADD it's people not having a clue what you are talking about as an adult about this disorder. Even if they do they will find a perfectly legal way not to hire you.guaranteed

Is it ugly? yes is it unfair? yes. but you will have to do it by yourself. I am in the same mess now and trying to get out of this and it is so tough that it can be surreal but we have to do it somehow. meds help, no meds then don't even bother.... "

" I don't really have any advice but I feel your pain... I am currently looking for a professional position and have changed jobs every 2-5 years which is a big deal in my line of work. Unfortunately I don't really love what I do but it pays very well and it is all I know how to do (and when I have tried career counseling and thinking about what it is I would really love to do, I can't figure it out anyway) so I keep doing it. Anyway, I think ADDbuster is right in that I would not go in to an interview telling them I have ADHD or ADD... it still has a stigma, particularly for adults and they will not hire you. So figure out a "story" for your job history (but don't overexplain) IF it comes up, and then move on.... also, consider just listing the last 3-4 jobs on your resume instead of everything you have ever done. It may still come up if someone pays attention to the dates, but you would be surprised how little attention some people give details like this in an interview situation and that way it will not be jumping out at them on paper.
I would love to hear how others have dealt with this. I have read that you should do something you love, and I know that would definitely help me... the problem is I can't seem to figure out what that is and one has to pay the bills....
Best of luck to you!!! "
