Hello All I am new to all of this so Greetings to ALL!!. My son has ADHD and been having issues in school getting started and completing task. He is a bright child but he behaves as if he is not really sure of himself. He is currently on medication and I do not want to up his dosage I was and the meds in the first place but was willing to give it a shot. He has since calmed down and focuses more if it doesn't involve writing. Any help anyone can offer would be great. Also has anyone had any experience with Bio-feedback/Neurofeedback

I have tried to learn all I could since my son was diagnosed 2 years ago. One of the things nearly all of the resources agreed on was that reading and writing were very difficult for people with ADHD. I think it's because of the disorder. The only advice my research gave to me was to be persistant and to break these tasks into smaller parts if possible. For example, take his writing one sentence at a time, or even one word at a time. For his reading, use something to cover the words he is not currently reading on the page. Due to the severity of my son's ADHD, we have had to resort to homeschooling him. From what I have observed, if there is alot of information on the page, his brain wants to take it all in at once and he feels overwhelmed. But if I find a way to block out some of that information, he does much better. I don't know about the biofeedback thing, but if it helps your child, I see no problem with it.

Hi Ladies! I can sympathize with you both. I work at my local elementary school in the cafeteria and I see so many children diagnosed with ADHD/ADD. I don't have any children with this but I have asthma and while searching the web for info on asthma, I found a web site that has some very interesting information about ADD/ADHD as well. It looks like there is a connection between toxic chemicals found in our households and chronic conditions such as attention deficit disorder (ADD), asthma, cancer, central nervous system (CNS) disorders, birth defects, infertility and others. Take a look at this web site. Maybe it can give you some information on what you are experiencing. Good luck and God bless! http://www.ahealthcafe.com/karenny...
